Wu-Tang Design Remix Project

I came across to Logan Walter's Wu-Tang Design Remix Project and had to drop by to let you know about it. I really love the idea of redesigning some classic album covers but for sure it will piss off some purist who prefer the originals.

Basically Walters wasn't that impressed by the original cover art of the Wu-Tang related art work so he's redoing all the covers in the spirit of Blue Note. And he's doing it really well. Check out the first seven from his blog.

Inspired by the cover art I was thinking of sharing something of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx but I don't have the record at hand but what I have is an amazing remix of Rainy Dayz. Raekwon and Ghostface spitting over a smooth Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes classic You Know How To Make Me Feel Good.

Family Tree - Family Tree (Norman Cook Disco Edit)

It's been over two weeks since my last post and I'm honestly sorry about that. I really hate blogs that don't get updated often enough but I've been mad busy with all sorts of new things in my real life. Yes, I actually do have a real life outside the interwebs.

I'm back but only to give you a little treat before I head out but I'll promise to come by more often. What we have here is a great edit of Family Tree, a rare classic that's big in the northern soul scene. The edit is done by Norman Cook (a.k.a. Fatboy Slim) and it came out in 2001 with the original cut on the flipside of the 12".

l'amour vert de chérubin ~ Green Cherub Love, a lovely cherub holding a rolled up love letter. My latest painting on canvas done with acrylics with little touches of gold and layers of washed paint to age to a soft patina. Available HERE at my Etsy store!

Close-up of little love cherub

(these doorknobs available at my Etsy store Here)
Vintage door knob found at a local market taken from a home before it was torn down. I fell in love with the chippy green paint. I could not resist placing these crystal hardware knobs I found to complete these pieces. Great little accessories or I would love to hang in a Laundry room. A little knob to place a jacket on.

One of my favourite treasures given to me by my Grandparents. These were my Great Grandma's ~ Depression glass. Depression glass was given out from banks during the depression when you opened an account.

I love this Green!

~Today, I am Dreaming~

(all images courtesy of Veranda Sept 2007 Issue)
Hi Everyone! This is a lovely home Provencal Farmhouse in California. What a dream home...this couple was able to crate aged wooden beams, limestone fireplaces, weathered stone and custom doors and windows. If you can't live in Provence...have Provence come to you!

Lovely Lavender is a must!

A sweet corner...So beautifully done! I am loving the parquet floors!
Imported limestone fireplace. I love the details of this door.

I LOVE everything about this kitchen. Take a close-look at the island. Oooo....the mixture of glass and crome...so simple and elegant!

How would you like to spend the day here? I have wine and cheese awaiting.

I know this photo has been floating in BLOGLAND...simple one of the best bathrooms!!!

I love vanities make a girl feel so feminine. Love all the little details of this space. ...for example the simple changes in the floors.

An outdoor living space is always a must and this one is so Pretty!

Even Better!

~Dollhouse~

Hi Everyone! This home caught my eye as I was flipping through Departures Magazine this month. A home whose interior is designed by Jonathan Adler, for Barbie! This dream home is overlooking the Pacific. He took this 3500 square foot private Malibu home and transformed it into a Celebration for Barbie's 50th anniversary. He not only designed some one-of-a-kind pieces but took furniture from his own collection. This home is for us all who are young at heart...Pink loving girls...who LOVE Barbie.

Andy Warhol's Barbie portrait hangs in the living room. Look at the one-of-a-kind corset-back chairs. So adorable!!!

Close-up of the corset chairs!
In June Johnathan Alder debuts Mattels "Generation of Dreams" Barbie doll in fabric like these chairs. So sweet!

Barbie chandelier made from 30 Blonde Barbie wigs. (This kind of creeped me out) A little creepy but Soooooo creative!
Hot pink splashed sitting room. Notice Barbie's favourite dog, a poodle, in porcelain hot pink!

I Love this!!! When I first saw this sunburst mirror I thought of Vicki (from French Essence) on the hunt for a gilded gold mirror in France. How would this one work for you Vicki? hehe

Johnathan Adler's rendering of Barbie's Bedroom. So fun!

The finished bedroom.

For all you shoe girls...this one is for you!!! Barbie Pantone 219 pink stilettos designed by no other than Christian Louboutin. These lovelies will be available in July...price upon request.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little VW bug...customized for Barbie and I assume in Patone 219 pink.
~
A little vanity is in the truck for Barbie to pretty herself up and no doubt to apply a bit of lipstick before heading to the mall.

(some images courtesy of Departures magazine & all others from Mattel)
What a lovely home for any Barbie lover! I have read that Johnathan ripped off the head of his sister's Barbie dolls when he was six and this project took on a deep personal meaning. "It was my way of making amends, " he says.
~
Don't you just LOVE this Dreamy home?
Have a Pretty Pink Day!!!

Hi Everyone! This is my latest hand-painted wall hanging inspired by the Marie Antoinette with my whimsical interpretation of Versailles. Marie Antoinettes favourite colour was bleu which is captured in the Chateau, flowers and the small little details throughout. This wall hanging is simply titled ~Il etait une fois, bleu~ (Once upon a time...)
