une récompense ~ an award

Gina from Purdy Wallcovering who is just sooo sweet, sent me this
Love Ya Award
Thank you so much Gina, I'm blushing over here!!!
Gina has a beautiful blog filled with so many inspiring interiors and is a specialist in wallpaper. Go figure! You dream it and she has it!

"These blogs are exceedingly charming.
These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends.
They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight more bloggers who must choose eight more bloggers and include this cleverly written text in the body of their award."
The eight lovely bloggers I choose to award are:

I know Anna is taking a break but it was truly Anna's beautiful blog that encouraged me to take this leap into Blogland. Thank you Anna! :) I wish you much joy and happiness!!!
Last week I told you I was going to show you the before and afters of the kitchen I was working on. There was a BIG OOPS!!! I accidentally deleted the before pictures.
I did though another kitchen a few years back with very similar before cabinets and here they are.

The before in honey oak.

The afters!

more afters!

These are from the kitchen I finished two weeks ago. I love this kitchen!

Close-up of the finish.

These are the steps that went into refinishing the cabinets:
*
sand cabinets-both sides
wash clean-both sides
spray two coats of primer-both sides
in between coats some light sanding
spray two coats of paint-both sides
again light sanding in between coats
glazing /antiquing ~all by hand~
water based sealant both sides
~Install~
Fshhh...Sorry... I'm tired thinking about this. Hard work but truly worth it.
This kitchen gets a lovely make-over.

I had to show this other image of this cute and charming kitchen. I love the green striped wall paper, the limed french kitchen chairs, the glass iron table, the sweet baker's rack and look at the darling chandelier. With oranges and lemons on it. So sweet!!!

It might be fun to add some black diagonal painted squares on the floor. Maybe! So those are my before and afters, what do you think?

Au Revoir

~Miss Kris~
